How to Get the Most Out of Your Facebook Business Page

Many of you many be feeling the Facebook pinch and wondering how Facebook is actually benefiting your business. Facebook has been making so many changes lately that many people have been seeing their stats fall drastically, but good news, they are going back up! Facebook is working better than ever and you too can again feel the benefits of having a Facebook business page! Here are a few tips of how to get the most out of your Facebook Business Page.

Use all the space you have been given!  Facebook has made the business pages completely customizable!  Your profile picture is a great place to start.  You have up to 200px by 600px worth of space to put for your profile picture.  This is a ton of space!  Get a hold of your Graphic Designer and have them make your business a profile picture that summarizes your services or goals as a business along with your logo.  This gives you extra exposure on Facebook and tells people who you are right away when they visit your Facebook page.  This is a good example of profile picture maximization.  They show pictures, business contact information and their website URL.

Custom Pages.  Facebook gives you a tons of different apps to use to put up your own custom pages on Facebook.  This is usually a page you create with the help of your website developer or designer.  This can be anything from a way for your clients to contact you without leaving Facebook to a landing page created to give your customers easy access to an E-book you want to provide them.  There are endless possibilities to what you can do with your custom  pages.  Make sure to talk it over with your Marketing team or look at other Facebook pages to get ideas!

Participate!  Follow other pages and keep up with your industry and your city!  Look at your home page either daily or every couple of days to see what others are posting.  Make sure to “Like” posts you are interested in and comment on posts you think you can contribute positively to.  Avoid commenting on posts you feel can become negative.  You can still benefit from a good debate, but try to show your business in a good light and show you are knowledgeable about a certain topic.  Also, tag other pages if you can.  If you are going to an event with other businesses, show that in a post!  It’s a good way to be seen on their pages as well.

Post at least once a day!  Why is this so important?  Exposure!  You want your business to be on the forefront of people’s minds, and a good way to do this is by being in their home feeds day after day.  More than two times a day may be a bit much, so keep it to a 2-a-day max, unless you have some very important information to get out to your customers.

Showcase your business!  This is a little off from the 80/20 rule, but with Facebook, it is okay to post more about your business than on Twitter.  Tell people what you do or offer in some of your posts, after all, they followed you because they like your business!  This is also a good place to give Facebook fans a special for liking your page or tell them about a special event you are having.

These are just a few of the ways to maximize your Facebook exposure and get the most out of your Facebook Business page.  Start with these few steps and you will see a more brand loyal fan base, and you may even see it grow! You may also see much more interaction and maybe even a few fan to customer conversions!
